Hi, I’m Diane, the seniors’ blogger for Experience Nicola Valley. My curiosity is my contribution; it refuses to quit. During my youth I travelled around parts of Europe, the Middle East and North America. I still say that British Columbia rivals anything the rest of the world has to offer, including opportunities for adventure, incredible scenery and more things to learn than anyone can sample in two lifetimes. Yes, I travelled, climbed mountains, shot the Hell’s Gate rapids (twice) and explored B.C.’s back roads but I still have tons of items on my bucket list. During the next ten years I want to take a balloon trip in Saskatchewan, spend a few months exploring New Zealand, try out a zip line and see the Northern Lights. Although I may slow down some, I don’t intend to quit!
Drawing, water- colour painting, furniture repurposing and writing are my current interests, as is D&D Emporium, my whimsical, tiny store. These activities blend well with my hunt for new things to do and see in Merritt and areas close to home.
Not every senior has extra money or perfect health and some of us don’t have cars, so come with me as I discover fun things to do and see here. Circumstances needn’t stop you from enjoying life. Fun is available all around us.
