Good day, my name is Gerome Garcia and I am the indigenous people's blogger. I have a wealth of experience in the customer service field. I worked 12 year's in the restaurant industry in various places in the lower mainland, Merritt and Edmonton. I also worked 4 years at Canada's largest living history called "Fort Edmonton park" in the heart of Edmonton. I learned how to incorporate the history of the Nēhiyaw and settlers.
From a young age I was taught to know my history. My Mum told me "If you don't know where you come from, you won't know where your going"
I have always pushed myself to learn about the history of not only this country but of my people.
I am 1/2 Nlaka'pamux and Syilx. I am also a decendant of one of the founding fathers of Merritt, Jesus Garcia.
I can be very "punny", often using my humor to help teach people about history from an indigenous perspective.
